If you’re not already a fan, Storage Wars is an immensely popular show that began airing in 2010. The premise doesn’t sound like the most exciting thing in the world, but hear me out. In the state of California, if somebody doesn’t pay r ent at their storage locker for more than 3 months, the facility can sell it at an auction. Because of this, there are professional buyers who bid on these lockers. Some of them own thrift shops, and use the contents of the lockers to fill them out.
But here’s the catch:
Before each locker is auctioned, the buyers are given five minutes to inspect the contents from the doorway, but may not enter the locker or touch any of the items.
Storage wars follows a group of storage buyers as they go around the country bidding on auctions.
