Mr Drains #5 - Blocked Sewer

Blocked private sewer drain.

Often there can be no accessible inspection clean out requiring the drain to be cleared through a gully trap & occasionally PVC traps can present issues.

On this job, the PVC gully trap was damaging the sewer jetting hose & making it difficult to get a feel for the blockage. Digging & cutting into the pipe allowed for better access & feel for the blockage.

An accessible inspection clean out will be installed where the drain was cut into, with a cover box to allow easy access to the drain in the future.

*** Gully Trap: A water basin that wastewater enters into before making it's way through the properties main drain to the wastewater network (sewer) of the local council/municipality.

The basin has a water seal that should prevent foul odours & noxious gases exiting back out into the surrounding area. They are typically found outside kitchens, laundry's & bathrooms, however they are not typical to every property or country. ***
