2023 Lexus NX

The compact Lexus NX SUV's second generation is on the way. While it looks similar to the current model, the 2023 Lexus NX appears to be vastly improved in every way. Lexus will provide four different powertrain options, including a plug-in hybrid NX.

There's bigger news in the new NX's cabin. Lexus has finally abandoned their distracting and difficult-to-use Remote Touch interface in favor of an all-new touch-screen infotainment system with 14-inch displays.

Why Is the 2023 Lexus NX Important?
SUVs and crossovers dominate Lexus sales, as they do for many other automakers. The NX is the company's second-best seller, trailing only the powerful 2021 Lexus RX, which outsold all of its other SUVs combined in 2020.

Lexus is broadening the vehicle's appeal with the new model by offering a variety of models, including a turbo, a hybrid, and a plug-in hybrid. F-Sport models will be available, with improved handling and more aggressive styling that will appeal to a wider range of customers than mainstream NX models.

The luxury compact SUV segment is extremely competitive, with strong competitors from nearly every luxury car manufacturer in the market. To excel, a vehicle must be more than just good; it must excel in all aspects.

Exterior Design: Evolving
The 2023 Lexus NX's exterior design isn't a significant departure from the current model. It has a slightly more mature appearance, with a toned-down version of Lexus' signature spindle grille and a slightly lower-appearing stance.

Its signature checkmark running lights have been relocated inside the headlight cluster, allowing Lexus designers to create distinct lower front fascia's for various trim levels. The rear features a full-width lighting motif similar to the Lexus UX and Lexus IS. Lexus has done away with its logo for the first time, instead spelling out the company name in lettering on the tailgate.

On some NX models, Lexus will offer a F Sport package.

Interior Design: Groundbreaking
The redesigned Lexus NX retains the first-generation model's driver-focused cockpit. It has been significantly updated, however, with an all-new touch-screen infotainment system that replaces the old touchpad controller with a new interface. A 9.8-inch touch screen is standard, with an optional 14-inch display.

We'll go over the capabilities of the new infotainment system later in this story.

Lexus was able to increase cabin and cargo space while fitting the crossover with new front seats because the new NX rides on a new platform.

NX drivers can select from 14 lighting themes and 64 colours with an available interior illumination package. Open-pore wood accents are found on top-trim models. Multiple interior upholstery colours will be available, including the previous generation's dramatic Rioja Red synthetic leather.

Performance and Powertrains
The Lexus NX 2023 will be available with four distinct powertrain options. First, the Lexus NX 250 is powered by a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine with 203 horsepower. It comes with an eight-speed automatic transmission and either front- or all-wheel drive.

The NX 350 gets an all-new 2.4-liter turbocharged engine with 275 horsepower. It accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 6.8 seconds. It has an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive as standard.

There are two hybrid powertrain options. The first is the standard hybrid NX 350h, which has 239 horsepower thanks to a 2.5-liter gas engine and two electric motors. Its all-wheel-drive system does not use a driveshaft to connect the front and rear wheels. When more traction is required, the back wheels are powered by an electric motor.

The 2023 Lexus NX 450h+ is the fastest member of the NX family, capable of reaching 60 mph in six seconds, according to Lexus.
