Some believe that the recent falls in inflation and the softening of mortgage rates could mean that house prices will start to stablise, however, this is unlikely to be enough.

Despite these recent falls, inflation is still a big problem and mortgage rates are still too high to sustain the current house prices. UK house prices will continue to fall until affordability improves for more potential buyers.

The UK economy is also stagnant and very likely heading towards recession. Unemployment is up, employment is down, vacancies are falling and GDP is unchanged year on year.

The Bank of England is also expected to increase interest rates further and it is extremely unlikely they will begin cutting interest rates again anytime soon.
