Correct Arm and Hand Riding Position // Horse Training Tips with Deanna Corby Dressage

It has been shown that riding with your elbows bent and anchored at your sides the the best, most effective way to communicate with your horse through the bridle. Riding with bent elbows is a technique that I feel very strongly about because it also helps you stay grounded in the saddle. Bent, oscillating elbows allow you to follow the movement of your horse whereas straight and stiff arms can cause your horse to travel above the bit or even curl behind it. Keeping your elbows bent and anchored by your side is vital to communicating effectively and kindly with your horse. As always, if you have any questions about what you see in this video, please feel free to leave them below.
