Police release video of short pursuit that killed woman and daughter in Oklahoma City

Video taken from a police officer's body camera shows a short pursuit of a driver of a pickup that hit another vehicle and killed a woman and her daughter in southwest Oklahoma City.

A police officer tried to stop the driver of a pickup on a traffic violation about 5:40 p.m. Friday near SW 40 and Villa Avenue. The driver sped away, ran a stop sign and hit a sporty utility vehicle at SW 44 and Villa.

The collision killed Tonya Horn, 43, and her daughter Rylee Ewald, 8, of Yukon who were in the SUV.

During the 23-second pursuit, the driver reached an estimated speed of about 80 mph, an officer said on the video taken before the collision.
