End of an Era | Diesel - Electric | Bangalore RAJDHANI Express | Indian Railways

Bangalore Rajdhani aka SBC Raj recently started running on Electric Locomotive (WAP7) for its entire route from Bangalore to Delhi. This video is a look back of how soon the Glorious Diesel days sped past with time as technology took over making way for Electric Locomotives.

Bangalore Rajdhani had 2 different routes running with 2 different Train numbers until June 2017.
One via Dhone-Kurnool-Kacheguda -Secunderabad (3 days a week as train no. 22693/4) and Second via Guntakal-Raichur-Wadi-Secunderabad (4 days a week as Train no. 22691/2). The route via Dhone - Kurnool -Kacheguda was a not electrified and the other route via Guntakal-Raichur-Wadi was undergoing electrification and AC traction was commissioned in June 2017.Until then the train had a Loco change at Secunderabad from Diesel to Electric and vice versa. Bangalore to Secunderabad the train was running with Diesel Locomotives.

In May 2017 the biggest shocking news was out !
The railways decided to discontinue running Rajdhani via Dhone-Kurnool -Kacheguda route and effective July 1st 2017 the train will run on all the days via the electrified Guntakal-Raichur-Wadi-Secunderabad line which provides end to end AC traction between
Bangalore and Delhi without having a need for a Diesel loco change at Secunderabad anymore. This was one of the biggest shockers for Diesel locomotive lovers therefore suspending the services of train no. 22693 / 22694.

GHAZIABAD (GZB) WAP-7 has taken the loco in charge for the complete journey of Bangalore Rajdhani Express for now.

Locomotive : WDM3A , WDP4, WDP4B , WDP4D & WAP7
