The New Directions sang this song, originally by Crowded House, in season 4 episode 9 "Swan Song". The glee club had been cut off after losing sectionals because of Marley (Melissa Benoist) passing out, according to everyone's beliefs. They had started to lose hope and when Finn (Cory Monteith) called for a meeting only he and Marley were there on time. Marley felt guilty because of the situation so Finn started singing this song in an attempt to cheer her up, eventually she started singing along and everyone came and joined in. In the end the New Directions were back together with their hopes up.
