Day 6 Forgiveness as Freedom

Scripture For The Day: "For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you." Matthew Chapter 6, Verse 14 (King James Version)
Message Of The Day:
Forgiveness is one of the most challenging yet liberating acts we can undertake. It’s not about excusing hurt or pretending it didn’t happen; it’s about releasing the hold that resentment has on our hearts. Jesus makes it clear in Matthew 6:14-15 that forgiveness is not optional—it’s essential. When we forgive, we open ourselves to receive God’s grace in a deeper way.
Lent calls us to examine our hearts and untangle the chains of bitterness. Is there someone you’ve been holding a grudge against? Is there a pain you’ve been clinging to? Today, take a step toward freedom by naming that person or that hurt and releasing it to God. Forgiveness doesn’t mean the pain disappears overnight, but it does mean you’re choosing to let God’s mercy flow through you.
Prayer For The Day:
Father, I come to You today with a heart that is heavy with resentment and pain. I know that holding onto these hurts only binds me, but forgiveness feels so hard. Soften my heart, Lord, and help me to see the person who hurt me through Your eyes.
Give me the strength to release this pain to You, to choose forgiveness even when it’s difficult. Break every chain of bitterness in my life, and let Your mercy flow through me. Thank You for forgiving me so freely, and help me to extend that same grace to others. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
