Tania Anderson about the intimate documentary THE MISSION | ZFF Daily 2022

Four young American Mormons are sent to Finland by their church to preach the word of God. For the teenagers, the mission is their first journey away from home. Armed with the Book of Mormon and a relentless will to do good, in Finland, they encounter one of the most introverted and unbelieving societies in the world. The young people not only have to deal with a completely foreign language and skeptical conversation partners, but also with homesickness and emerging doubts. Director Tania Anderson followed the young missionaries and created an intimate and tactful insight into their mission's everyday life.

The «Zurich Film Festival» brings together filmmakers, directors, the film industry and the audience in Zurich. Cast / Audiovisual Media is a subject area at the Zurich University of the Arts. Under the direction of Eric Andreae, Nadia Holdener, Alun Meyerhans, Nina Rothenberger and Raffael Thielmann, the students in the 3rd and 5th semester create audiovisual content for «ZFF Daily». They use their knowledge in animation, editing, filming and social media acquired during their studies.

Unter der Leitung von Eric Andreae, Nadia Holdener, Alun Meyerhans, Nina Rothenberger und Raffael Thielmann planen die Studierenden des 3. und 5. Semesters Videobeiträge für ZFFDaily. Dabei wenden sie ihre Kenntnisse in Animation, Schnitt, Kameraführung und Social Media an, welche sie sich während des Studiums angeeignet haben.
