Making My Way To Everglades National Park

On my way to Everglades National Park I stopped over at Bear Island Campground in Big Cypress National Preserve. The fee was only $5 and it sure beat the few roadside parking areas which are the only things available. It was a great stop though since the area has bountiful wildlife to enjoy on the drive through.
The Flamingo Campground lies on the very southwestern end of the national park so I opted to try to visit some areas before making my way straight there. The park has quite a few surprises and thankfully I won't be one of those people who say they went to Everglades National Park and never saw an alligator! In fact this is just day one with two more days to go and a lot mroe to come.
