Best Polisher for Boat Oxidation - Makita, Porter Cable, Harbor Freight [Review]

To remove oxidation off of boat gelcoat you need a powerful polisher. There are two types available, dual action and rotary. Dual action polishers whether Porter Cable, Griot, Shurhold, Chicago Electric, Flex, Rupes or whoever simply don’t have enough power to remove oxidation. The dual action mechanism is designed to leave the least swirl marks at the expense of power. Youll also notice the DA (dual action) polishers are set up for use with foam. Wool pads are neccessary for oxidation removal. Even if you did put a wool pad on a dual action it will not provide either enough size or power to accomplish much of anything. What we need is a , no load, orbital polisher. No load means that the polisher will spin at the selected rpms regardless of the pressure applied. The Makita 9237 is the machine most used by proffesional detailers and boatyards. There are some knockoffs of this machine, however I’ll show you their shortcomings in the video. There are more videos coming so subscribe so you’ll get the notifications.
