Jason Wilkins, Assistant Professor of Practice in the Department of Design

This fall, Wilkins will be teaching Typography I, Identity Systems and an independent study course. He’ll also be coordinating the sophomore reviews for Design students.

Wilkins worked on the visual identity for The University of Texas at Austin, as well as KUTand KUTX.

During quarantine, Wilkins recently bought a new album from Lightin Hopkins, one of his favorite artists, he notes that the album cover was designed by Milton Glazer, who is best know for the classic “I 🖤New York” design. (Wilkins’ signature hat is also inspired by Hopkins.)

When Wilkins moved to Austin, he also brought his brother. Wilkins can frequently be found in mosh pits at shows with his brother’s band, Hikes.
