Hong Kong protests: Activists mark 1st anniversary of Prince Edward subway station clashes

Dozens of Hong Kong residents gathered in Prince Edward neighbourhood on Monday night to mark the first anniversary of the subway station clashes between police and protesters.

The police operation took place on August 31, 2019 saw riot police raiding on anti-government protesters with pepper spray and batons as subway passengers gathered in train carriages behind umbrellas.

On Monday, activists laid flowers and chanted pro-democracy slogans while police said they’ve made 12 arrests among protesters for breaking new national security laws.
