OUR LARGEST HEAD TRACKED DJI FPV CONVERSION: 2 metre FMS EXTRA 330 on 12S !
We are always looking for new RC aircraft to upgrade to head tracked FPV and the FMS Extra 330 has been on our list for this conversion for a little while. For the first flight we are always cautious and fly the RC aircraft line of sight (LOS) with someone else wearing the FPV goggles. We do this because there are nearly always small issues that would prevent a comfortable flight by FPV. In this case we found that the canopy transparent plastic distorts the view excessively. We have found this on previous conversions and always tend to remove this transparent plastic to eliminate reflections and refraction of the light inside the cockpit. We also found that the FPV pilot was too low. Seeing the ground is vital especially to take off and landing. Both will be corrected very soon and we will make our first aerobatic FPV flight.
