Making a Silver and Gold Granulated Marquise SAPPHIRE Engagement Ring - Lorna Romanenghi Jewellery
Silver, Gold and Blue... Could there be a more sophisticated combination?
In today's video you are watching me create a completely unique ring that features a deep blue marquise cut sapphire in the centre, surrounded by delicate silver and gold balls (known as granules)
This ring also has a unique subtle piece of detailing on the stone-setting that to me gives it a slightly tribal "arrow head" look.
Can you spy it? What does it remind you of?
In this video you will see the creation of this ring from start to finish as it is carved from a block of wax, cast , set and polished!
This video is not a tutorial and is intended with the sole purpose of sharing my making process and watching the magic of transforming base materials into a beautiful piece of jewellery.
If this video inspires you to want to learn how to make jewellery I would recommend checking out the wonderful array of classes at Vanilla Ink Jewellery School (vanillainkstudios.com) where I am both a Tutor and the Jeweller in Residence.
I hope you enjoy being at my side, watching me work away at this beautiful engagement ring.
