IRONMAN 70.3 STAFFORDSHIRE

On Sunday 9th June 2019, Team Meglio Athlete Katrina Matthews entered her first Ironman race as a Pro athlete. Starting with a 1.2-mile swim in Chasewater reservoir, Kat jumped out of the water and onto her bike in 4th place. Determined to chase down the leaders, a strong performance would be required over the gruelling 56-mile bike course.

After passing through the beautiful countryside outside Lichfield, Kat quickly closed in on third place. A 13.1-mile run to the finish line around Stafford Town Centre would decide the overall outcome. Saving enough fuel in the tank for a big finish, Kat powered home on her run, taking third place in the final stages of the course. GO KAT!!
