2006 toys...

From the USA company Hog Wild, a very unusual biro that can fit in your pocket or clip onto any strap or waistband. The central part rotates, and in one position the nib of the pen is tucked away out of harm's way. Rotate it back again and the writing nib is now available for use. Very neat.

A propelling pencil from Rotring. To make the pencil lead appear, you bend the pen in the middle - a very unexpected mechanism!

Finally, one of Tim's puzzle friends who is good at metalworking decided he wanted to take apart a one Euro coin - this is a coin that has a disc of one metal in the middle, and then a ring of different metal around the edge. It seems that the centre is held by an interference fit, and by pushing hard enough, we was able to push the middle out. We have some of this type of coin in the UK now. If you find any with loose middles, it is probably Tim's friend having fun!
