I3 mini is the most affordable model in Wanhao Duplicator FDM series. This small 3D printer doesn't look like other models in the series, whose design was borrowed from the legendary Prusa i3. i3 mini is almost half the size of other Wanhao Duplicator devices.

The printer comes fully assembled. All you need to do is unpack the machine and remove the shipping hardware.

The package contains: a Spare Print Bed Mat, filament, a glue stick, a MicroSD Card, a USB cable, a toolkit, tools for cleaning the extruder and the nozzle as well as a Getting Started Guide.

As we stated before, i3 mini is the smallest model in the Wanhao Duplicator series. The printer takes as much space as two A4 sheets of paper. As a result, the printable area is much smaller compared to the other Duplicator models. The build volume of the printer is 120х135х100 mm. At the same time, the minimum layer thickness - 100 microns - is close to that of more advanced models, i3 and i3 Plus.

According to the manufacturer, the features of this printer's design made it possible to strengthen the Z axis, which accounts for an increased stability and accuracy.

A filament spool is placed on the right side. The filament is inserted into the feeder and sent to the extruder through the bowden tube.

The front panel of the printer is placed at a convenient angle and features a memory slot as well as the control elements of the device, such as an LCD-screen, a Reset button and a knob.

The bed leveling is carried out according to the classical scheme - the height is adjusted with four screws located under the bed. Cura Wanhao Edition software is recommended for preparing digital models for printing. Experienced users can use any software they find suitable.

Prepared file with the G-code is transferred into the printer’s memory via a microSD card. The same can be done with a PC - a USB port is located on the right side panel of the machine.

The i3 Mini features the MK10 extruder, whose maximum printing speed is 70 mm/s. It’s not the highest speed out there, but considering the key parameters of the machine, it’s more than acceptable.

The bed is covered with the signature Wanhao coating. There’s no platform heating, so it is recommended to use PLA for printing. Wood is also an acceptable option, since it’s the same PLA but combined with wood dust.

Wanhao Duplicator i3 mini is a great choice for beginner-level users. This model has already been sold in a large network of Australian supermarkets. The manufacturer is not afraid of a large number of warranty claims, since in terms of its simplicity and reliability the device is as close as possible to consumer-grade machines.
