Military Diet - Lose 10 Pounds in 3 Days
If you’re looking to lose some pounds quickly for an upcoming occasion or a wedding event, then the 3 day military diet menu is the best weight loss plan out there! The 3 day military diet menu is split into two phases, which lasts for 7 days. During the first three days of the diet, you’re allowed to eat low calorie meals 3 times a day with no snacks - 1000 to 1300 calories per day. On the other 4 days off the menu, you’re free to have a healthy meal plan comprising of no more than 1500 calories per day. Of course, not everyone could eat all the foods and hence you’re allowed to replace any food in the 3 day military diet menu with foods that contain the same number of calories and nutrients.
List of Military Diet Substitutions:
Grapefruit: add ½ tsp of baking soda in a glass of water.
Tuna: any lean meat, but fish is preferable. Also Cottage Cheese, Tofu, Almonds or Peanuts.
Vanilla Ice Cream: 1 glass of apple juice or 1 cup of fruit flavored Yogurt.
Peanut Butter: Almond / Soy / Pumpkin or Sunflower Seed Butter; or Hummus
Eggs: 1 cup of milk, 1 chicken wing, ¼ cup of nuts or 2 slices of bacon.
Whole Grain Bread: ½ cup whole grain cereal, ¼ cup yogurt with ½ tsp. flax seeds or rice cakes.
Cottage Cheese: Soy Cheese, Soy Milk, Tofu or Ham.
1/2 Banana: ½ cup of papaya, 1 kiwi or 1 apricot.
Saltine Crackers: Each cracker has about 13 calories. Substitute with rice cakes or any gluten-free crackers with same calories.
Hot Dogs: Turkey dogs, Deli meat, Bratwurst or Luncheon meat. If you’re a vegetarian: Soy dogs, Tofu dogs, Portobello mushrooms, Beans or lentils.
Carrot: Beets, Celery, Squash, Parsnip or Bell pepper.
Broccoli: Spinach, Asparagus, Brussel sprouts or Cauliflower.
Meat Substitutes: Lentils, Beans, Tofu or Portobello mushrooms.
Apple: Plums, Grapes, Peaches, Pears, Zucchini or Dried Apricots.
Green Beans: Tomatoes, Lettuce or Spinach.
