This article will demonstrate how warehouse orders are created to organize jobs for processing at the warehouse. The main objective of SAP EWM is to support the picking, putaway, and internal movement procedures in the warehouse. Consequently, it's essential to have a general understanding of how SAP EWM warehouse orders are created as well as the configuration parameters that control the procedure.
A warehouse order in SAP EWM is a document that describes a set of tasks that a warehouse worker must complete in a specific amount of time. The warehouse order is made up of warehouse tasks or physical inventory items. When products are received, issued, transported, or counted, warehouse tasks are created. Warehouse orders are created by EWM from the tasks in the warehouse and made available for processing. For instance, warehouse tasks are created during the goods receiving procedure to transport products into the warehouse and to the appropriate storage bin. EWM combines these tasks in accordance with the guidelines for creating warehouse orders to create the warehouse order. The warehouse order creation rules (WOCRs) are specified during customization.
When organizing warehouse tasks into warehouse orders, EWM creates warehouse orders using the search sequence. For instance, WOCR1, WOCR2, and WOCR3 since EWM processes them in the order indicated in the setup for each activity area despite the fact that there are many WOCRs. A SAP standard rule is applied if no rules are specified. Multiple shipments' warehousing activities can be combined into a single warehouse order.
Users have a great deal of flexibility with warehouse order creation rules. With the aid of various Inbound sortings and Warehouse Order sortings, the order of tasks can be altered to suit different operational circumstances. Different sequencings can be done for different locations or in accordance with varied characteristics of the tasks or the items themselves.
In the end, SAP EWM improves not only the work division but also the way of performing the assignment by classifying labor more precisely with the aid of Warehouse Order Creation Rules and case-specific customization of the WOCRs process phases.
