• We will look into the code on deep-dive layout-oriented storage control
• We will focus on MFS environment

In SAP EWM, the storage space control principle is crucial and also necessary. This serves as the product's driving force in a stockroom with intricate movements and layout designs.
If stock movements in your warehouse don't go directly from a source storage bin to a destination location but instead go through an intermediate storage bin, you can use the layout-oriented storage control. Mainly, you setup/configure material flow system using layout-oriented storage control.
Storage control for intricate layouts only uses handling units. The initial warehousing task for the process can be produced without a HU in the identification point scenario. However, when you confirm the warehouse task, you must provide the destination HU. On outbound side, the pick task can be established in the pick point scenario without accessing a source HU. The system establishes the necessary HU at the construction of the picking warehouse task and stores it. In order to move the source HU to the pick point, the system additionally creates a HU warehouse task.
