Te Waikoropupu Springs & The Grove - Takaka | South Island New Zealand Road Trip Vlog 3/4

Carrying on from our previous vlog, we made our way over to Takaka in the beautiful South Island of New Zealand. We were fortunate that the rain stopped long enough for us to visit a few attractions but not so lucky on our second day unfortunately! However, the bad weather didn't stop us from having a great time :)

We absolutely love the crystal clear blue springs that are in the North Island of NZ, so we were excited to visit Te Waikoropupu Springs (aka Pupu Springs) but since it was raining heavily earlier, the waters weren't quite as blue as they probably normally are. It was still a nice walk though and we were glad the rain stopped long enough for us to visit.

An unexpected awesome place near Pupu Springs was The Grove Scenic Reserve. It felt like a hidden gem in Takaka with an amazing view of Golden Bay at its lookout. Definitely a great short walk to do in Takaka.

Our Airbnb was in Brooklyn, a short drive to Motueka township. Unfortunately with the non-stop rain and bad weather we couldn't share just how beautiful Barbara's property was outdoors but we had a wonderful stay despite the rain. Barbara was the most amazing host and her studio was such a cosy, homely stay in a great rural setting.

Unfortunately the weather was so bad (doesn't really show on video but the rain was relentless) making it very difficult for us to vlog outdoors so we drove to the nearby town of Motueka where the rain wasn't quite as heavy to get ourselves some lunch.

We ate at Toad Hall, a store and cafe in Motueka. Fresh, organic local produce, friendly, attentive staff and delicious food. We couldn't ask for more. Their seafood chowder was incredible and there was tons of great seating too.
