EASY HOMEMADE DONUTS | WITHOUT A STAND MIXER OR DONUT TOOLS!

INGREDIENTS
3 1/4 CUPS all purpose flour ( plus more for dusting )
1/3 cup white sugar
1 tsp salt
4 tbs melted shortening
1 large egg
2 1/4 tsp dry active yeast
1 tsp sugar
1 1/4 cups warm water ( not hot water, water should be warm to touch but not quite Luke warm.. if the water is too hot it will kill the yeast, and if its too cold the yeast will not rise )

1 can vegetable shortening to fry the donuts

to make the glaze
2 cups powdered sugar
1 tbs corn starch
splash vanilla extract
1/4 cup water

* note I did NOT turn my microwave on.. I only placed my bowl inside because it’s typically a warm place to let the dough rise *
