Replaceable Spindle Sleeve (Reduce Your Downtimes) - FERMAT MACHINERY

Today we are introducing replaceable spindle sleeve which can
significantly reduce your downtime.

It was common in the past that if there was a bigger collision between a tool and a workpiece, the whole boring spindle usually got damaged. Its replacement is in general very time- and money-consuming and must be done by Fermat service technicians.

Fortunately, most Fermat boring machines are already equipped with this sleeve as a standard, which simplifies and speeds up the repair of a headstock in case of a collision. The spindle sleeve is screwed onto the spindle front flange and the space between the spindle hole and the sleeve is filled with a special liquid material.

Spindle taper sleeves are standard for headstocks with spindle diameter 130mm and bigger. Our customers can choose from several types, such as SK 50, SK50 BIG+ and also HSK A 100.

Replacement of a spindle sleeve can easily be done by customer’s own technicians without any intervention of Fermat service department.

For that reason, I would like to recommend to all our customers ordering at least one spindle sleeve as a spare part together with the machine. By doing this, you can prevent longer downtime of your machines in case of a
potential collision.
