Alliance Defending Freedom says the Southern Poverty Law Center branded ADF and similar organizations as “hate groups” simply because it disagrees with their religious convictions and legal advocacy.

In this testimony, ADF argues that its work is focused on defending children, parents, the unborn, the elderly, donor privacy, freedom of association, and the most vulnerable members of society. The speaker points to ADF’s record before the U.S. Supreme Court, claiming 18 victories since 2011, with additional cases still pending.

The testimony also highlights a striking contradiction: according to ADF, the SPLC once filed an amicus brief supporting one of ADF’s Supreme Court victories involving freedom of association and donor privacy—yet continues to publicly label ADF as a hate group.
