BMW R1200GS Final Drive Service [2013]

A complete guide to BMW R1200GS Final Drive Service and maintenance. This video will show you exactly how to service the final drive on your BMW R1200GS or R1200RT.

In this video you will learn how to service the final drive of a 2013 BMW R1200GS Adventure, however the 2005-2013 BMW hexhead and camhead bikes are a similar process, with the only difference being the drain plug and fill plug locations. The 2013+ water cooled bikes will have a similar process as well.

First I will show you how to remove the rear wheel of the BMW R1200GS. Next, we will remove the brake caliper, speed sensor, and drain the fluid from the final drive. The last thing before reassembly is to grease the drive shaft splines.

We will then go through the reassembly process and fill the final drive with fluid, and also what type of fluid and grease to use.
