Life of a water warrior | Smita Singhal | TEDxIIMKashipur

Water makes up about 71% of Earth's surface and yet there are places where people are deprived of clean drinking water. Despite their best efforts, they are not able to fulfil the most basic need to survive. This looks like the perfect breeding ground for technological innovation. Smita Singhal, founder-director of Absolute Water, talks about how she makes clean drinking water from sewage water and how people still don't drink it. She talks about the problems she faced in her entrepreneurial journey and how she still keeps going. The exemplary founder-director of Absolute Water, Smita Singhal’s idea was conceptualized in 2015 in Delhi Jal Board where her innovative solution created a daily supply of 1 lakh liters of spotless and clear safe drinking water, potable according to WHO standards - the filtration technique being unique in that it incorporated elements from nature whilst focusing on tackling the persistent global issue of depleting water resources This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
