Adam Damian Grant - swims across The Georgia Straight
On Sunday/August 11/2013 Adam Damian Grant swam fnon stop from Point Cowan on Bowan Island across The Georgia Straight to Acadia Park (UBC)(Pacific Spirit Regional Park).
He swam with no wet suit and no flippers. Just a pair of red boxer briefs.
The swim was to raise awareness and to promote The Heart and Stroke Foundation.
The non stop swim took 6hours and 45 minutes. He began at 6:30am and finished at 1:15pm.
He swam through 5ft swells, rain and a thunder and lightning storm.
If that wasn't enough about 3/4 of the way to the finish his left shoulder also ceased on him forcing him to swim with one arm for 30 minutes.
He never gave up!
Nothing was going to take him out of the water not even Mother Nature.
