Pond duckweed removal with shredder pump

Removing duckweed from small farm pond with a shredder pump. Works quite well!

We added a few (sterile) grass carp to the pond a few weeks ago to eat the duckweed, but without some help we're afraid these little fish will never get through the amount of vegetation we have.

So we bought a shredder pump and attempted to give the fish a head start on their pond cleanup.

After a few trial and error attempts on the setup we got something that works well, so we thought sharing our process might be appreciated. We couldn't find many examples of successful removal when starting out on this adventure. Hopefully it helps someone with a similar problem!

One added benefit to this approach that we didn't mention in the video is that it should help add oxygen back into the water. Churning through that much water is a nice little boost to help pond health.
