Remove duckweed from a pond the lazy way

This quick little video shows how effective goldfish are at consuming duckweed. You can see that in the ponds stocked with small fish in this case rosy barbs and white clouds, the duckweed is abundant.

These duckweed forests started from a single leaf attached to some eel grass i purchased for the ponds. Even though the fish were in the ponds it still spread like a wild fire.

A few weeks ago i went to fish out a fish from one of my goldfish ponds and i used the net i use to capture the white clouds. Of course it released a heap of duckweed into the pond. I thought "oh great now I'm stuck with duckweed in my goldfish pond.

But when i came back a few hours later it was all gone. The gold fish had eaten it. Since then I've done a few experiments and every time they completely eliminate the duckweed in the pond.

Anyway hopefully this helps someone out. I personally like duckweed in small patio ponds but if it was in my larger ponds id be annoyed.
