This ain't your grandpappy's district, actually it was. No longer a pleasure district in Kyoto this area still bears the historical mark of that heritage. This slice of Kyoto directly adjacent to the Kamogawa r is one of my favorite places to enjoy on a hot day along the canal. It also happens to have one of my favourite bathhouses in the whole city.
