Creating a great black and white photo is NOT as straightforward as removing the colour from your photo. This desaturated monotone edit will be flat and lifeless. There are tools at our disposal to help improve the tonality, the contrast and guide the viewers attention to key areas of the photo.

This long exposure photo of Mt Manganui in New Zealand was shot with a 10 stop neutral density filter allowing for a shutter speed of 104 seconds, which resulted in lovely silky smooth water and motion in the clouds.
