Mototrailaventure 2018 Spring Refresher

It was a beautiful spring morning when Players Super Dave (BMW F800GS), JP (Yamaha WR250), Riley (Husqvarna 701) and Marc (Honda Africa Twin) headed to the South Shore of Montreal. We were all participating in the Mototrailaventure "Remise En Forme", or Spring Refresher. We have been to this event a few times over the years and it is always a great way to shake off the winter cobwebs. The event is free if you join Mototrailaventure which is only 45$ for the season. That is a good deal since the event includes some instruction, use of a really cool riding area and lunch. The last few years this event has taken place in a sandpit surrounded by a some really nice trails. Sand, mud, hills it has it all. The owner of the pit graciously allows this event once a year. The group of about 70 odd riders is divided into 3 sub-groups. Beginner, intermediate and advanced. We joined in with the advanced group, so it wasn't too advanced although we did have some real experts in our group. We had everything from DRs, KLRs, KTM690s, BMW 1200GS Adventures, KTM 350EXCs with us. The training provided by the BMW instructors is aimed squarely at big bike users but most of it applies to everyone. The training is not the full course but a mini version with several exercises followed by some casual trail riding. Our group had a great time, everyone dropped their bike a few times and by the end of the day we were all feeling a lot more comfortable in the saddle.
