Classique RidAventure 2015 - Team Awesome Players

The Classique RidAventure is always the biggest event in the Dual Sport world here in Quebec. It is also early in the season so it usually forces everyone to get moving and get their bikes and bodies ready. The Awesome Players had participated in previous years but this would the first time we would have our own team. Chris, Joe, Jason and Riley were there as old time members. New guys Super Dave, Marc and JP had ridden with us a few times last season. Ivan, Serge and Ligourien were introduced to us on site. Riley would be the official leader although he would do so from the rear of the pack and leave breaking trail to Chris up front on his BMW HP2 Enduro. Joe would be riding his X-Challenge, which developed a small oil leak. Dave and JP would be on F700GS BMWs, and would work a little harder than the rest to make it through. JP had only been riding for a half season, and had a fresh motorcycle license in his wallet. Riley would be on the venerable F800GS whose crash bars would once again see some action. Ivan was on a modified KTM 690 with a rally kit and Jason was riding a stock 690. Marc and Ligourien were astride Yamaha Super Tenere 1200s. Nice sound and lots of power but low ground clearance. Serge was riding the big beast, an R1200GS Adventure. Serge was incredible and made it through it all despite having to lift the boxer up too many times to count. A lot of mud, some mild exhaustion and overcoming some challenging obstacles would test our team and their machines. Everyone pulled together and made for a very memorable event.
