I wrote this song back then as a vent for my frustration after being rejected by a Japanese woman who only had eyes for international men, much like the characters in these lyrics. Looking back now, I realize she and her boyfriend were actually quite a wonderful, powerful couple. These days, I spend my time reflecting on those youthful reactions with a bit more wisdom.
Inspired by the British New Wave scene of the early 80s.
