Grafting Fruit Trees | Changing varieties in old Pear Trees | Bark Grafting

Using the bark graft technique to change varieties in old established fruit trees. Do you have several trees of the same variety? Do you have a variety that is not very good? Do you want to change the variety but the tree is quite old and you don’t know how to proceed?

This video will show you how to change varieties in older fruit trees using the most effective grafting technique for this situation – the Bark Graft Technique. In a few years your tree will be rejuvenated and will start producing lots of good quality fruits. You can even graft more than one variety turning the tree into a multiple varieties producer which is a great way to taste different fruits if your space is limited.

The best time to execute the procedure is late winter or early spring. The tree should be heavily pruned in the winter and you must leave at least one branch to help move the sap when it leaves dormancy.

The scions can be previously collected and stored in the fridge wrapped in kitchen film or they can be cut fresh but must be dormant. The tree can be dormant or starting to move sap.

Good luck with your grafts and don’t forget to like, comment, subscribe and share the video to support the channel.
