Why we do so many SL RDL variations

Why do we do so many single leg RDL variations you may ask?

Because the goal isn’t just to make an exercise harder (we promise)

It’s to build qualities that actually carry over!

The single-leg RDL challenges your ability to:
➡️ Maintain hip mobility while moving through a hinge
➡️ Stabilize the low back without defaulting to extension/arching
➡️ Create a strong, intentional core brace while load and balance change

When you can do all three at the same time - on one leg - you’re training control, not just strength

And that type of control can have massive carryover to your barbell lifts

So to bring it full circle, we use different variations because:
➡️ Each one exposes a slightly different weak link
➡️ Load, tempo, range, and balance demands change the stimulus
➡️ Progress comes from adapting, not memorizing one version

It’s not about being fancy

It’s about getting better at the big lifts by owning the basics first!
