Paul sat in darkness, awaiting his fate. The footsteps of the guard echoed through the prison corridors. Soon, he would stand before Nero’s court—there would be no acquittal this time.
As he prayed, memories flooded his mind—his encounter with Jesus on the Damascus road, the churches he planted, the letters he wrote. He had given everything for Christ.
Luke sat beside him. “Paul, do you have any final words for Timothy?”
Paul nodded, dictating his last message: “The time of my departure is near… The Lord will rescue me and bring me safely to His heavenly kingdom.” (2 Tim 4:6,18).
With his letter sealed, Paul looked up, peace in his eyes. His earthly journey was ending, but his eternal reward was near.
