Pre-Sowing Soil Preparation and Straw Collection | Italian Farm | Farming simulator 22 | ep #86

Welcome back to the Italian Farm Timelapse. We commence the soil cultivation process following the harvest of root crops. Our FENDT 1151 MT tractor, equipped with a subsoiler plow, efficiently plows these expanses. Some fields are consolidated through combining. Additionally, our new fields retain residual straw from the recent grain harvest, necessitating its collection. This straw proves essential for mulching strawberries in open fields, and we opt not to bale it.
Initially, straw is gathered using a forage trailer; however, a strategic shift leads us to acquire a forage loader with a chopping function. We adopt a new approach of raking and chopping the straw before loading it onto truck trailers. Once all the beds are laden with straw, we establish a storage facility and transport the collected straw there.
Upon completing the field plowing, we transition from the plow to a cultivator. Delegating the fieldwork to a hired worker, we introduce a new CASE IH Tiger-Mate 255 cultivator, paired with a CASE IH STEIGER Quadrac AFS CONNECT tractor. Subsequently, we resume field cultivation in preparation for the upcoming sowing phase.
