Abandoned Medical Center With Everything Left Behind

In todays video, we will be exploring an abandoned medical clinic that was known for offering and providing free medical treatment to low income families in the local area. The explore was also exciting as it had medical equipment, accessories, and supplies all left behind, which always helps make an interesting video.
The medical center dates back to when it first opened its doors back in 1963 to serve the low income population that either didn’t have medical insurance or that couldn’t afford copays for the coverage of medical services. This medical center was one of the very first in the area to basically offer free medical care to poor people.
Word spread rather quickly and soon the medical center was jam packed with patients trying to take advantage of the clinic’s programs and it’s benefits.
It continued to be a success for many years and they even expanded the center to offer dental and vision care. Another reason for the success was due to the business idea for the medical center to be a sort of “one stop shop” for all medical necessities. This would have helped the patients to receive specialty care without the normal prerequisite headache of going to a primary care physician to get a referral.
All of the medical centers success would change shortly after the Affordable Care Act, otherwise known as Obama Care, passed in 2010. Although the specific reason remains vague at best, it appears that the federal funding that the medical center relied on to provide these services was cut. Without the necessary funding, it couldn’t continue to provide the free and low cost services, forcing the medical center to close. With such an unfortunate situation, we can only imagine how many patients were effected by the center’s closure.
As of 2022, the one time successful medical center still sits Abandoned.
