Day trip to Bodie State Historic Park, mining ghost town California

While camping with family up in the Eastern Sierras area of Mono County California, off the US Highway 395, we did a day trip to Bodie State Historic Park. Its the first legit ghots towns in America that I have visited! It's a old mining ghost town just south of Bridgeport, another neat town along the 395. plenty of great camping is available along this stretch of 395, from Mammoth Mountain to Reno. Eastern Sierras camping is like nothing you have experienced.
What got us here started with a nice week of camping at Mammoth Lakes RV Park in, yup you guessed it, Mammoth Lakes California. When we checked out we weren't done so we headed to Glass Creek Campground just off the 395. The exit is easy to miss but its somewhere between Owens River Rd and June Lake California.
