Rate Limiting Explained under 60 Seconds ⚡

Ever wondered why websites tell you to "slow down"? Let me explain Rate Limiting in under a minute! 🛑

Rate limiting is like a nightclub bouncer for your API. It controls how many requests can enter in a given time - maybe 100 per minute per user.

Without it? A single bot could crash your entire server with thousands of requests per second. 💥

📌 3 Main Rate Limiting Strategies:

1️⃣ Fixed Window
Resets every minute. Simple to implement, but can allow bursts at window boundaries.

2️⃣ Sliding Window
Smoother rate control that's more fair to users. Prevents boundary exploitation.

3️⃣ Token Bucket
Allows controlled bursts when needed. Most flexible for real-world usage patterns.

💡 Real-World Example:
When I built PloyCloud (ploy.cloud), I implemented rate limiting on our deployment API:
• Free users: 60 requests/minute
• Pro users: 300 requests/minute

This keeps the platform fast and fair for everyone!
