Australians ‘holding their breath’ and hoping govt ‘correct’ on inflation
Former New South Wales Liberal leader Kerry Chikarovski says all Australians are “holding their breath” and hoping the government and Treasury are “correct” on inflation.
Treasurer Jim Chalmers will hand down the federal budget on Tuesday, May 14.
“If the government is correct and Treasury is correct and the inflation figures are coming down faster than the RBA has suggested they might, then we all might get some relief on those interest rates,” Ms Chikarovski told Sky News Australia.
“I think that is probably what everybody around the country at the moment is holding their breath about.”
