Smart Card Videos - #5 - Manually Operating the Living Room Slide-Out

Our 2003 Alfa See Ya came with Smart Cards to get the new owner up and running while they got acquainted with all of the features in the motorhome.

First check the switches above the door, the battery disconnects should be in the “use” position. The switch to the right is the slide room safety switch, this should be in the on position. If the slide still doesn't work then it is possible to operate the slide manually.

In the front storage bay behind the left front wheel, inside on the roof of the bay you will find a box held on by 8 screws.

Inside the box is the slide motor and gearbox, there's also a shaft that connects to the gear reduction arrangement that the motor connects to. A 5/8” socket on a long handled ratchet will allow the slide to be extended or retracted. This will take 10 to 20 minutes to fully retract or extend. Once you're finished retracting or extending the slide room go back inside and reconnect the switch to hold the slide in position.
