This Beast Will Slay It's Prey! Cicada Killer
Are these Asian Giant Hornets or Murder Hornets in Pennsylvania? No, not at all. These large wasps are known as Cicada Killers and they are a native species. You will be surprised when you learn about the sting of these huge wasps. Cicada killers are a species in the Crabronidae family known as Sphecious speciosus. Incredibly beautiful wasps, these Hymenoptera are the second largest wasp species in North America. Do not fear these insects because they are NOT aggressive at all! I prove it in this video. Not only are they mild mannered, if they actually do sting you, it barely hurts at all. Less than a bee sting. These wasps are mistaken for hornets, but they are no threat. They are predators of Cicadas and their young or larva are eco-parasites on cicadas. These Cicada Killers are active in July and August when cicadas are also active and above the ground. you will dig these digger wasps! #scary #nature #wow
