Restoration of Old Rusty Straight Razor - $1 Rusty Razor

Hi, in this video I'll be restoring a straight razor that I bought from local store for $1. This old razor is very rusty as you can see. The handle also is broken.

I started this restoration by removing the razor from its broken handle. I removed the rust from the straight razor using a rust remover solution. Since, it was very rusty, there are some pits due to the corrosion that required a lot of sanding works. I started sanding it with rough grit (80grit) up to 240grit before preparing for polishing. Even though, there are still some deep pits left that I couldn't manage to remove. I prep the razor for polishing by sanded it using sandpaper 600grit-1200grit. After that, I polish it using the rotary tools.

For the handle, I decided to use Acrylic transparent pieces to give it a new fresh look. And finally I sharpened the razor using whetstone sharpening kit 3000grit-8000grit. The greater the number, the sharper the razor will be.
