Big Seal With Deep Cut Rescued

In this quick-start rescue, Naude and Denzil identified a large female seal that was horribly cut but a piece of fishing line. They saw her while driving, so had to be fast as possible to start the rescue. Naude raced ahead with the net, and managed to get her as she made her way to the water.

From above there was no visible wound, but they could see she was hurt while she was running. Once the lines were cut, they opted to release her without pulling out the lines first. She popped out of the net and all the lines stayed behind. The plan worked out great. 🦭
