Elder Cemetery: A Body Of History (2019) | Documentary - Historic Graveyard In Central KY

In this film documentary we'll be exploring the Elder Cemetery in the unique and beautiful Forkland area of central Kentucky. The largest graveyard in this area, Elder Cemetery is the final resting place for many of the Forkland area's earliest pioneers as well as countless generations of their descendants. From landowners, shopkeepers, soldiers, and young children tragically taken too soon; this and other old family cemeteries represent a vast collection of histories that make up the fabric and essence of a community. At their request, I was happy to have the opportunity to make this film for the Forkland Genealogy & History Workshop. It was possible through the hard work and dedication of Doris Purdom and Shirley Shepperson, who over decades have gathered information on this and many other family cemeteries in Forkland.
