How To Make Red Dangle Earrings

Hi there. In this video, I'm going to show you how to make these cute dangle earrings using lots of crystals, and just a little bit of chain.

So to make these earrings, for each earring you will need some kind of a charm dangle for the base. I just have this little paisley shape. It's about three-quarters of an inch tall. You'll need an ear wire, of course, and some beads. I have here three different shades of red, three each, four-millimeter cubes. These are little two by four-millimeter rondelles from House of Gems, and these little four-millimeter body cones. You'll need nine headpins and just a little bit of chain. You only need like four links, but leave it all in the length of chain, as it's easier to manage.

So the first thing you need to do is make all of your beads into bead dangles. Just slide them onto a headpin, trim that wire where it comes out of the headpin to about three-eighths of an inch, and then use round nose pliers to make a loop with that remaining wire, and be sure and grab the loop, center it back over the bead. And repeat to make all of your beads into bead dangles. Now that the bead dangles are made, we can start assembling our earring.

So like I said, it's easier to handle the chain if you just leave it in one long length. So the first thing we're going to do is use two pairs of chain nose pliers to open up the bottom link of this chain. And this chain is about six-millimeter long oval. Open that and add one of your little paisleys, and one bead. Now you could if you wanted, arrange these beads from darkest to lightest, and have a gradient, like an ombre look, but I just decided to mix mine up. So add the loop of one of your bead dangles, and then close that chain.

Now on the next link up, you're going to add a bead dangle on each side of the chain. So this time, we're going to open the loops of the dangles, and then be sure to close this securely, and then add one on the other side of the link. So there's two, repeat for the other six, having two on each link, one on each side. So then once you have all your beads added, it's time to add your ear wire. And you're just going to open up the loop, and attach it to the last link that you added beads to, the top link that you added beads to. Close it up, and then just open up the link that goes beyond that, and remove it.

And there you have it, a pair of really fun dangly earrings with lots of sparkle. Happy creating.
